“The paper feminine hygiene industry has done a very good job of convincing women that their period is something [which] should be out of sight and out of mind, something they shouldn’t talk about,” Zivku said. “Think about the advertisements we see – it’s all about silent wrappers, discrete and smaller products that are easier to hide or dispose of, and concealing the fact you have your period. Without opportunities for positive period talk, women and girls may not have the opportunity to learn about or even ask about other, more sustainable options.”

How Urbanization affects the Environment [Infographic] | ecogreenloveBrought to you by Gotcha Wildlife

It’s hard to comprehend how urban air pollution is killing 2.4 million people a year. Even though increased urbanization is a part of the modern world, something doesn’t quite add up here. By 2050 it is predicted that up to 85% of the world will be urbanized and it is important this development is managed carefully so the detrimental effects are minimized. How will this affect wildlife when in the United States 275 species are already endangered as a result of urbanization?

Join Meatless Monday In Celebrating Earth Day

This April 22nd marks the 45th anniversary of Earth Day, an annual event celebrated in 192 countries to support environmental protection efforts.

Join Meatless Monday and the global community to call attention to one of the simplest actions people can take to protect our environment – giving up meat once a week.

Experts estimate that livestock account for 14.5 percent of total global greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing our meat consumption even as little as one day a week can have an enormous impact on minimizing water usage, reducing greenhouse gases and cutting fuel dependence.

30-day Spring Cleaning

It’s officially spring (yaaaay!) but along comes the Spring Cleaning (meeeeh!). This is not the first time I try to “spring clean” my small apartment, but I have to tell you, for me is both exciting 😀 and overwhelming D:

Last year we decided to do some research on Organising specialised blogs, to give you tips from the very professionals and make it less overwhelming and exhausting as well. I hope they are useful. Cleaning a little bit every day makes Spring Cleaning a bit lighter and not a torture and such exhausting days. Which in the end I know is very satisfying, I know not everybody is very into this activity, so why not make it a light and organised (family) time?

Go to my last year’s Spring Cleaning post to get details, tasks, tips and tricks for each day.
