I stumbled upon this video and is never enough when we publish something about food waste. Here are some facts and numbers in a visual easy-to-read infographic way that show what is costing to the environment, here is a video with some story about food waste, a video showing “stellar examples of ugly fruit and veggies” from FB and yet another video as example of how food that has been trashed out can be perfectly edible and even help others who can’t afford to eat nice food from the supermarkets or in a nice restaurant without having to go to the junk cheap food place. Natural Disasters: How can we help [Infographic]

Natural Disasters: How can we help [Infographic] | ecogreenloveInfographic by MissionSafety

This infographic outlines the worst natural disasters in human history, and identifies how we can best minimize the impact of these disasters. A natural hazard does not need to become a natural disaster on the scale we hear about so often in the news.

For example, the Tsunami in the Indian ocean caused upwards of 280,000 deaths. MissionSafety’s research discovered that this figure could have been reduced if people were taught how to react to a tsunami. Education can play a key role in saving lives.

Hopefully this infographic offers you some clarity on how you can help after a natural  disaster. If you’re planning on donating money to a cause make sure you know exactly where it’s going and avoid charities who spend more than 20% of your donation on ‘admin’.

Green Media: Shower better (Switch & Save)

As most of us would probably agree, a good shower helps us get ready to start the day or wind down after a long day. Sure, you could shorten your shower by one minute and save 550 gallons of water a year. But some are not ready to give up any of their shower time. The good news is that consumers can switch their older model showerheads to a new WaterSense labeled showerhead that is certified to save at least 20% or more water and provide a satisfying spray. This amounts to saving 2,900 gallons of water a year! And switching to a WaterSense labeled showerhead not only saves water but also saves energy and money on your utility bills. Join Flo and her cat, Puddles, in making the switch to savings with WaterSense.

EPA’s WaterSense program is dedicated to helping Americans be water-efficient in their homes, both indoors and outdoors.
