But only snake plant is a houseplant. The others prefer to be out in the garden.

Just because they are not houseplants does not mean that one could bring them in as potted plants for a while and then put them back out in the garden. I used to do that with mint; and I have grown yucca, redwood, queen palm and even lemon gum eucalyptus as houseplants.
