LED lighting has become an incredibly popular lighting source over the years due to the huge number of benefits they offer. LED light bulbs are semiconductor devices which efficiently convert electricity into light without the use of fluorescent tubes or filaments. LED light bulbs are incredibly energy efficient, able to convert over 80% of their energy to make light. When compared to incandescent bulbs, which give off over 80% of their energy as heat, LED bulbs are truly energy efficient.
Some of the main benefits of LED light bulbs include:
- A lifespan of up to 40 years
- Cost effective
- Energy efficient
This infographic from Efficient Light explores all of the key benefits of LED light bulbs when compared to incandescent and halogen bulbs.

Thanks for sharing. I bought an LED lightbulb for a desk lamp recently and I noticed how bright it shines from the very moment of switching on the lamp, unlike the older energy efficient bulbs which used to gradually get brighter. Plus they don’t overheat unlike halogen. They may be twice the price of halogen but they are definitely worth it on all accounts 🙂
Yes, is true, the cost is worth it in the long run. Thank you for passing by and sharing! 💚
