It’s important to realize that our consumption patterns impact the environment. Consider the fact that each day 80,000 acres of forests disappear from the earth and more than 20,000 tons of plastic are dumped into the ocean. Furthermore, a significant portion of the food that many of us eat travels long distances before ending up in our supermarkets that we then need to drive our cars to in order to purchase.
