“Cohousing communities are communities organised collaboratively. Residents have their own private spaces but band together to share meals and facilities, organise activities and look out for each other.

The focus is on community. All that’s required is a neighbourhood where people want to band together, take care of one another and collaborate for the good of all.”

  1. My husband and our two children live next door to my parents (in 3/4 of their house that they separated from their 1/4 by way of a wall!). There are *many* benefits! And we just decided to turn a large portion of the property into a vegetable garden!!

    1. That’s awesome! Here in Germany I know there are some family houses or generation houses but they are not yet so many, I find it very interesting and with lots of positive effects. Would you say there are equally benefits and challenges in your experience? Or more pros than cons (if I may ask)?

Thank you for sharing your opinion! πŸ’š

      1. Definitely a few cons, but way more pros! Especially when you have kids (aka childcare!). It is such a special relationship for grandparents and grandkids, and I feel very luck to see my parents every day πŸ™‚

We appreciate your feedback! πŸ’š
