“Valentine’s Day has been horribly commercialised, and if you’re green of heart, you may feel inclined to ignore it altogether. But I always say, there’s no bad day to tell someone that you love and appreciate their presence in your life.”
I have always liked giving functional presents for these holiday season as well as for birthdays. And most of the years I make some time to create the gifts myself, maybe is only the wrapping (not that I create the gift per se) but something that makes it unique and more personalised. I have collected some ideas, a few but quite not so common, that I hope they inspire you.

The season for major gifts is coming, we are less than a month away from Christmas and New Year. Here are some ideas to wrap your presents in a unique way but also reusing materials we usually could throw away. Hope you find them inspirational, I bet you will not need to buy old common paper and ribbons to wrap your presents again!

Don’t toss away all the wrapping paper and ribbon that once covered other gifts. Instead, run it through a shredder (cut to size first, if needed) and use it for lining gift boxes or bags.
You can always repurpose some cloth and wrap everything with the awesome Japanese Furoshiki style 😉
In order to avoid consuming more plastic, I decided to buy soap only in bars (they come in carton box), but for me (and for many others) is not too hygienic, so I searched how to turn a bar into liquid or gel. I found several sources that show how to DIY, all have the same principle: Grate – Add Glycerin, Essences and Oils – Boil and ready! Not complicated at all, I will definitely try it out!
Have you seen this Soap Schredder? I think is an interesting idea but would it replace the liquid gel? What do you think? Let me know your comments on the tutorials and don”t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest 🙂
