I did my best to have an ecofriendly classroom. We separated composting, recycling, and garbage, and did regular trash audits to see how we were separating. I held waste-free weeks, and our school also had Wasteless Wednesdays, which our class won at the end of the year! We had lights off on sunny days, and half the lights on less sunny days. We had several plants, which the kids took care of. We also made zero-waste gifts for things like mothers/fathers day, like planting tomatoes, and making pots out of sticks. We did trash cleanups, and would often discuss how plastics impact the environment, and what our responsibilities are.

  That sounds really great Nadine! You did a great job and I am pretty sure your students were taught to be conscious about the environment and how every act counts. I truly believe all the schools should follow these acts!
