How to Remove Bitterness From Brussels Sprouts via @eHow

Brussels sprouts are a nutritious vegetable that provide vitamin C, vitamin A and fiber. The problem that many people have with Brussels sprouts, however, is that they often taste bitter. While it may be impossible to remove all of Brussels sprouts’ bitterness, there are multiple ways to reduce this offensive flavor. These culinary strategies target the manner in which you cook the Brussels sprouts, as well as the flavors and seasonings that you can use with them.

Cut off the stems of the Brussels sprouts, and slice each sprout in half.

Boil the sprouts for about 10 minutes, or until just tender.

Melt 1 tbsp. of butter in a pan, or heat 1 tbsp. of bacon fat.

Add several cloves of sliced garlic, along with the Brussels sprouts to the pan and saute them until they are golden brown.

Season the sprouts as they are sauteing with a pinch of salt, a teaspoon of vinegar or a dash of sugar.
