Even though I was fairly certain it couldn’t really be a suitable substitute to the blush I was buying, I figured it was worth a try. Especially considering how simple and inexpensive it was to make.
Simple, inexpensive, and all natural. I doubt I will ever go back to the store bought stuff!
Here’s how to make your own…..
All Natural Homemade Blusher/Bronzer
- 1/4 cup arrowroot powder or cornstarch (I used cornstarch)
- 1 – 3 teaspoons hibiscus powder (I found mine on Amazon)
- Optional: 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Put arrowroot powder or cornstarch in a small bowl then add 1 teaspoon hibiscus powder. Continue to add the hibiscus powder until you achieve your desired color.
Optional: add up to a teaspoon of cinnamon for some added warmth and glow.
I ended up adding approximately 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon to mine and loved the end result. It really warmed up the pink hue and gave it more of a blusher/bronzer feel than just a straight blush.
This homemade beauty product turned out a lot better than I ever imagined it would. At first it seemed like it was just too simple to actually work. I love it when I’m wrong (sometimes.) 🙂
I honestly couldn’t tell any difference in this look than any of the other store brands I’ve purchased and it literally cost pennies to make.
