Our ancestors built root cellars, underground structures that kept food at a consistently cold temperature year round. Depending on individual needs, it may be worth building a root cellar or another type of food storage system if you don’t have ideal conditions to store winter crops. But before you start digging or building, it’s important to assess whether the chosen dwelling – probably a garage, shed, basement, cellar, or unheated room – already provides the ideal conditions for storing some food.
Last weekend we had the opportunity to go to the Upcycling Design Fair in Freiburg, Germany hosted by Frei-cycle Deutschland. And here below we will show you some of the amazing projects designed and made out of recycled materials from aluminium bottle caps to cement sacks or parachutes!!! Amazing projects, incredible products! The only thing you need is an idea and there you go! There is plenty of material that usually end up in the landfill, so resistant to temperature changes or weight that lasts ages to be decomposed! Why not give it a try and start reusing from our homes in order to reduce the waste?
Check the links from the exhibitors, most of them have online shop. There are so many incredible products! Continue reading “Recycling & Upcycling Design Fair 2014 in Freiburg”
