The Global 24 hour Moratorium on the use of Fossil Fuels

ZeDay Guidelines are simple:

  1. Don’t use or burn oil or gas or coal.
  2. Minimize (or eliminate) your use of electricity generated by fossil fuels.
  3. Don’t put anyone in harm’s way: All essential and emergency services operate normally.
  4. Do your best, have fun, enjoy the day!

Our world is counting on us

It’s up to each of us to take care of our planet at this point. When your driving something this large you have to stop every now and then — reflect on what’s working and what’s not working — and set a new course for where you really want to be. Zero Emissions Day provides just that opportunity to benefit everything and everyone on our planet.

We’re finding that more and more people, families and communities are declaring Zero Emissions Days whenever they please and just for the fun of it. People who have had the experience have been transformed deeply by it.

In the end, it’s not about massive public relations and media campaigns that are here today and gone tomorrow. It’s all about individual awareness, mindfulness and the choices we make. It’s about realizing yes we can all stop harming ourselves and our planet – if only for one day. We can do this. We can all do this.

The Global 24 hour Moratorium on Fossil Fuel Combustion

Zero Emissions Day is inspired by the possibility that we can act collectively to give our world a day off – when nothing is turned on.

The Guidelines are simple:
1. Don’t use or burn oil or gas or coal.
2. Minimize (or eliminate) the use of electricity generated by oil or gas or coal.
3. Don’t put anyone in harm’s way: essential and emergency services operate normally.
4. Do your best, have fun – enjoy the day!

Zero Emissions Day is all about having authentic conversations about our future. This is a grassroots initiative. Participation is voluntary. The September 21 moratorium coincides with The International Day of Peace as established by United Nations resolution, to be observed as a Global Ceasefire and day of peace and nonviolence.

Zero Emissions Day is an annual event.

This group has been created to spread the word worldwide and initiate this unprecedented action where everyone can take part for the benefit of all – and all future generations.

Join and participate to shrink the footprint, bank millions of barrels and divert millions of tonnes of GHG. Join also because Zero Emissions Day inspires you to come up with all sorts of ideas and ways to spend a day when the only thing that’s “turned on” is you and your community.

Share all your ideas and inspirations on the wall and start discussions. Get the word out. Tell your friends. Let’s make this happen billions times!

Thanks so much to everyone.
