Mini garden

Last autumn, I started planting some flowers. I must say, is the first time I plant something from scratch. I’m testing myself to see if I’m able to take care a living plant from the very beginning. So far I haven’t had much luck.

I first started buying a small cactus… it died after 6 months, my guess is that It died because of too much water.

Years after, I tried to take care of my mom’s plants because she moved to another city… wasn’t really me who was taking care of those, it was more the girl who helped me cleaning the flat, and she used to arrive every 15 days, so you can imagine, probably the plants were surviving!

However, since I live now in a place where apparently balconies are very common in apartments and flower pots are a must hanging on the balconies rails, then I decided to give it a try. But from scratch, not trying to buy a flower already grown, but planting the seeds… well, this is how it started on August the 5th 2012:

On August 13th they were already showing their first living signs:

And after seeing it was working, I tried to plant other stuff, like Red Chilis on March
(for the next seeds I used an upcycling technique which has worked prefectly with self water plastic bottles, I’ll post about it later):

As well as bell peppers:

Then, they started to grow and, in the case of the flowers, to fully bloom:
