Moving can be an incredibly exciting time but the process of moving can be incredibly annoying at times. While most people simply hire movers to get the job done, it’s much cheaper and sometimes more efficient to do it yourself.
Depending on the size of your home and the amount of items that need to be moved it’s totally doable to move yourself. All you need is a truck and the know-how to make it as fast and efficient as possible.

Kitchen Moving Hacks
Getting cut by a knife while moving would be no fun! Ensure that doesn’t happen by placing them inside of pot holders and then securing them with rubber bands.
Other tricks include wrapping glassware in (clean) socks, using Saran wrap to keep your kitchen utensils together and putting your spices inside of pots and pans for easy transport. You can view the full infographic below for more great ideas!

Bedroom Moving Hacks
Did you know that you can easily move your clothes by placing a garbage back over either the top or bottom of hanging clothes and securing or tying the other end?
Some other great tricks include stuffing your shoes with small objects to save space, putting a fitted sheet on both ends of your mattress to keep it clean, and rolling your clothes instead of folding them. The infographic below explains!

Living Room Moving Hacks
Have you ever scuffed your wall trying to remove nails from your wall? Well, scuff no more! Simply wrap a rubber band around the end of a hammer to prevent this from happening.
You can also put your lightbulbs in ornament boxes to prevent them from breaking, snap a picture of your entertainment center wiring to ease the setup process later on and use pipe insulation to protect the edge of large picture frames or mirrors. More in the graphic below!

Bathroom Moving Hacks
We loved this genius idea to put your jewelry in egg cartons to keep them separated so that they don’t tangle. Just make sure that you tape it up or secure it to prevent it from popping open in transit!
Other lifesaving hacks include putting plastic wrap over the opening of bottles and then re-screwing them on to prevent spillage. You can also put a tape X over mirrors to prevent breakage, just make sure it’s not duct tape because that might ruin the mirror! More hacks below.

Home Office Moving Hacks
Do you have a lot of heavy items like books to transport? You can put them into a rolling suitcase to save your back!
Also, be sure to remove any ink or toner cartridges from your printer before moving. Keep any important documentation in plastic bags to make sure they don’t get damaged in transit. You can also take a picture of the items inside each box so that you know what’s in them without opening them! This would work for any room, of course. One last round of hacks is below.
